Fakten:
General refurbishment of electrical drive units, control systems and the entire crane management system. Safety technology modernisation.

Facts & figures:
The terminal handles 125,000 containers per month, which is just under 70% of the country’s sea freight. The container terminal has a 247,000-square-metre container yard (tarred) with a shunting area and a 574-metre-long deep-water quay with a depth of 11.5 metres. The throughput in 2012 was three quarter of a million containers.

A conversion was made from reach stackers to rubber-tyred gantries (RTGs). The transition to RTGs increased throughput by 25%.
